OPENING DAY, TWO HOME RUNS, A BUSTED LIP, AND RILEY IS A BUTTFACE...

Today was opening day for baseball season...love it!!! Unfortunately Tyler was out of town and missed it. Riley and Easton are on the same team this year(Hooray for me!) and both of them had a great game. Riley hit two home runs and a single, and Easton had three singles and a busted lip...way to get in front of the ball buddy! Poor guy looked like Angelina Jolie coming in from the field. He quickly shook it off and went right back out there. I am proud of you little man. Oh... the following is a conversation I had with Easton the other day. The kids got some sidewalk chalk from the Easter bunny and I was admiring their artwork on the driveway.I thought it said Riley is a buttface. After seeing what it said I quickly walked inside to find Easton because I knew he was the guilty one...



Me(angry): Easton did you write that on the driveway?

Easton: Write what?

Me: Did you write Riley is a buttface?

Easton: No...I wrote Riley is beautiful.

Me: I don't think that's what it said...

Riley: That is what it says because Easton asked me how to spell it.

Me: Well how do you spell beautiful Riley?

Riley: B-U-T-T-F-U-L

Me: Riley we need to work on your spelling.
I think it is so sweet that he thinks his sister is beautiful. It just makes my day.

BOWLING IS SOOO MUCH FUN...

THIS WEEK IS SPRING BREAK FOR THE KIDS...WHICH MEANS STAYING UP LATE AND SLEEPING IN. TODAY WE WENT BOWLING...TALK ABOUT FUN. SO FUNNY TO WATCH THE DIFFERENT BOWLING STYLES. JOSEY WOULD BOWL HIS BALL AND STAND AT THE END WITH HIS HANDS ON HIS HIPS WAITING FOR IT TO GET THERE. AND WAIT HE DID BECAUSE IT TOOK A LONG, LONG TIME FOR IT TO GET THERE.(LISTEN FOR THE JEOPARDY THEME SONG) TYLER AND EASTON(MY SUPER COMPETITIVE ONES THOUGHT THEY SHOULD HAVE BOWLED A STRIKE EVERY TIME AND RILEY JUST HAS THIS FEMININE APPROACH. THE BOTTOM PICTURE IS VERY FITTING FOR JOSEY...ALWAYS MY GRUMPY ONE AND BOY WAS HE EVER TODAY. FUN DAY INDEED.

I'LL STAND BY YOU...

Easton had a very sad moment during his fieldtrip on Wednesday. I planned on going to his Native American fieldtrip for a few hours in the morning and then go home to get a few things done around the house. When I told him I was leaving he totally lost it. He just didn't want me to leave him. And even though I had to drag Josey around the entire day I stayed....and I was soooo glad I did. My dad was one of the featured Native Americans that day and at the end of the day they did a big finale with drumming and stomp dancing. My dad called Easton front and center to play as one of the drummers. It was the highlight of my week, make that one of the highlights of my year to see that big smile on Easton's face. It was a moment that taught me a very important lesson....the house can always wait, but my children can't.

This morning at 4a.m. Easton woke up with a very high fever...I am suspecting the flu since Josey tested positive for it on Friday. This is the conversation we had. Easton: Mom will you scratch my back...it always makes me feel better.
Me: Sure buddy...(a few minutes pass) Now who do you love more? Me or Joy?
Easton: You...but just a teeny titch more.(uses his fingers to show me just how teeny)
Me: What!?
Easton: Well maybe just a big titch more.
Me: Well okay just as long as you love me more than her. You need to love me more than any girl until your about 26 and then you will have to love your wife more than me.
Easton: Well that's never gonna happen.
Me(thinking): He knows exactly what to say...
